Beaches

I'm back from our tour de beaches trip.  Keith, (my sweet hubby) and I headed up to North Carolina to check out some of the beaches there and have an early anniversary celebration.  He chose Carolina Beach - kind of like out of a hat, but we got to see a lot of others, for future trips.

The first photo is the morning sunlight as I walk down towards the beach.  You can see the water if you look hard.  The sand dunes are really cool with all kinds of plants growing in the sand, (I didn't know they could do that) and I'm always looking for interesting debris that is caught in it.  Sometimes it's better if I don't find some of the stuff...but I'm looking for the wayward seashell or beach glass.

And I'm always interested in what kind of home lines a beach.  Having grown up in CT along the water, all the houses were older and different.  Some of these look like a builder had a very attractive cookie cutter and made these almost the same.  They're nice, but sometimes it's just the color that differentiates them.

We had a great time, from fireworks on the beach the first night to seeing some of my wonderful bead buddies- Gina and Jodie and spending time with them to the variety of beaches...Carolina Beach, Kure Beach, Wrightsville Beach, Topsail Beach, Surf City and Southport... It was so hot, we couldn't spend a lot of time in the sun, so we drove and spent little bits of time in the different places to check them out.
And of course we ate fresh seafood until we almost burst.

See you tomorrow.  Same time, same place...but sadly, not from the beach.
